The first Jazz Dance World Congress (JDWC) was presented in 1990 by Gus Giordano and the Dance Program of Northwestern University in Evanston. This July, Giordano hosted the annual five–day event at the Harris Theater located off Millennium Park in downtown Chicago. The World Congress celebrates the uniquely American art form of jazz dance and offers jazz dance enthusiasts an opportunity to take classes from master dance instructors, see performances by internationally–known dance companies, witness the dance competition for the prestigious Leo Award, and discuss any topic of interest to jazz dancers – both in formal panel discussions among themselves or whenever the crowded schedule allows. Ensuring the event would start on the right foot, GeekPAK created some cool moves of their own by designing posters, brochures, ads and street banners that adorned the corner of Michigan and Randolph Streets. By revitalizing color and giving sophistication to printed materials, GeekPAK was able to ensure success for the grand event. In addition, JDWC required an updatable website for showcasing professional dancer bios, downloadable forms, class and performance scheduling, viewable video and more. Wanting to showcase the unique form and shape of each dancer, GeekPAK created a large image plate which leads the viewers eye to page information. Each performance went off without a hitch and GeekPAK danced the night away after hearing the attendance results. Project Highlights: + Poster, brochure, stationary and identity design + Downloadable forms & video viewing capabilities + Self managed and updatable website Modules used to create this site: Content Management, Contact & Business Development, Online Scheduling & Calendar | ||
